Love by the sea.

Some people believe in destiny and others believe that consequences are just an end result of decisions being made.  However, how do you explain from my point of view (photographer) shooting a dancer from Chicago and another from Minnesota who happen to work for the same person, in the same place and yet, I was there to photograph them when in fact I live 12 hours away.   It is more than portraits and images.  It is a complete story behind them that some of us will never get to know but somehow tells us that things do fall into place when we least expect them.  Gotta love Malibu California!

A change of plans.

What do you want to be when you grow up?  I believe this is one of the the toughest questions we have to answer. The pressure we feel from family, friends, teachers, and even from ourselves can sometimes be excruciating. Our responses will vary from time to time depending on who we meet or the circumstances we go through.

This is Jessica – an awesome friend,  wife, and a mother of a beautiful baby girl.  Currently working on the healthcare industry she is shifting in to what her true passion is; photography.  She has been blessed with a great talent and her work is phenomenal! Her husband and her daughter are great supporters and I finally had the pleasure to meet them all! In fact, I had the pleasure to shoot Jessica myself! It can sometimes be a bit intimidating when shooting such a talented person but I’m pretty sure she liked them:)  Don’t forget to check her work at http://jessluevanophotography.com/

Its all in the family.

From Costa Rica, this woman has been blessed with such a beautiful family that it was all smiles and giggles.  Believe it or not, but these dogs have some sort of a Obedience Bachelors degree hahaha. Had tons of fun and it was definitely one of the best shoots I’ve had! I say this, because, I was able to photograph a woman who happens to be a single mother who everyday strives to do her best for her family.

A constant fight.

Today, I would like to talk about the importance of portraiture in women and why is it that I love photographing women. Some of you, who personally know me, might know the philosophy behind my work but for those who don’t, I would like to share it. I believe that all women should have the opportunity to be photographed. Why?

Because a woman’s life is always a constant fight.

They go to work, they go to school, they make sure their kids are ready every morning before school, they make dinner, they go the gym, they go grocery shopping, they are on a diet, they spend money on makeup, clothing, and hair products to impress their partner every day. They deal with family, friends, and even pet problems. However, it doesn’t matter how busy or how tired they are, they always make the time to welcome us with a smile.

Every woman has a different story because they all go through different stages in their life; however, they all have one thing in common: they only want the best for their family and friends no matter at what cost.

I am proud to say that I am grateful to have the opportunity to photograph these women because I get to hear their goals and their triumphs and they resemble the voice of the two women I love the most; my mom and my wife.
